Ever wanted to take a ride in L.A.P.D.'s helicopter?  How about a ride along in a "black and white" with our L.A.P.D.  officers as they go out on real calls?  Well now is your chance to win one of these once in a lifetime opportunities.

The Los Angeles Police Department Wilshire Community Relations Office presents its Annual Senior Lead Summit where you will have a chance to meet with all the Senior Lead Officers (SLOs) from Wilshire Division.  This event will feature special presentations to include topics such as "How to be a good witness", "L.A.P.D. Wilshire Gang and Narcotics" and information from the L.A. County Department of Health.

A drawing for the ride along or helicopter ride will give one lucky person (who must be present) a very special prize!

The date is Thursday, July 22nd from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM and the location for the SLO Summit serving the PICO NC area is the Nate Holden Performance Center, 4718 W. Washington Blvd. (east of La Brea).  Admission and parking are FREE and complimentary food and refreshments will be served.

  • Women please remember to safeguard your handbags/purses on your person while shopping at grocery stores, department stores, etc. Never leave them in the basket while you walk away to retrieve an item.
  • Be cautious when leaving a bank or ATM—Detectives have noticed suspects targeting individuals as they leave these locations with cash. Keep your keys handy as you approach your car, and be aware of persons loitering as you enter and exit these locations.
  • Be aware of residential "knock-knock burglars". If no one answers when they knock on the front door they go to a side or back window/door and enter to remove valuables.

Be alert to any unusual situations in our community—items left in unusual locations, people loitering and seemingly casing the area. Call the Police if the situation causes concern.

Remember to sign up for NIXLE.COM to keep up to date on emergencies and criminal activities in our area.
