CRA and City OK new loan for Midtown Crossing project |

President Mary Ann Yurkonis, Sue Beidleman and John Mimms attended a Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) meeting last month after which the Los Angeles City Council approved a plan for completing the long-stalled Midtown Crossing shopping center at Pico and San Vicente. On a 9-2 vote, the council agreed to provide real estate developer CIM Group with a new $19.3-million loan to finish the shopping center, which would include a Lowe’s home improvement center.

Neighbors United has submitted comments to the second proposed Mitigated Negative Declaration (MND) for the application to build a 77-unit apartment complex on the 1400 block of Hi Point Avenue. Under the existing R-3 zoning designation, the developers can build a project of up to 64 units by combining six parcels formerly occupied by single-family homes. The developers are seeking a density bonus to increase to 77 units by including a minimum number of low-income units. An approved MND would accept conditions that developers deem necessary to make the project viable.

Men's, women's, children's clothing - roughly $1-$2 a piece with designer brands selling for morePurses and shoes- anywhere from $1 and up depending on the quality / brand Books - anywhere from $0.25 for small paperbacks to $1-$2 for a nice quality hard coverRecords, tapes, VHS (yes, they'll still sell, think around 50c ea), CD's ($1), DVD's ($3)Kitchen Stuff- keep sets together if it's a nice set, a good frying pan can sell for $8 or so
