Please find enclosed our latest construction notice regarding an upcoming intersection closure at La Cienega Boulevard and Jefferson Boulevard for street reconstruction work. What: Temporary intersection closure for street reconstruction, including excavation, curb and gutters, traffic signals, repaving and restriping.
Where/When: The intersection of La Cienega Boulevard at Jefferson Boulevard will be closed to through traffic on the following dates:
Continuous Closure - 7:00 p.m. Friday, April 15 to 6:00 a.m. Monday, April 25, 2011
Construction Work Hours - 7:00 a.m. to 12 midnight, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 12 midnight, Saturday and Sunday. Click READ MORE for Alternate routes. Click Read More for the traffic impacts and alternate routes. |

An Appeal Hearing will be held before the Central Area Planning Commission regarding the proposed 77-unit apartment complex to be built at 1417-1447 Hi Point Avenue. The hearing is March 22, 2011 after 4:30 p.m. on the 10th floor of City Hall, Room 272. We will submit written documents and arguments 10 days prior to the hearing. It will be important that we have people to attend the hearing and speak to show our concern for our community. We will arrange for parking in the City Hall complex. Also, we can arrange to carpool (as we have in the past for hearings) so more people can go. For persons who wish to drive, we will have to submit your type of car, the color and license number to Councilmember Wesson’s office no later than March 19. We’re in need of a new block captain for the 1600 Block of Point View Avenue. What does a block captain do? They distribute monthly newsletters to neighbors on their block and inform the NU board of issues of interest or concern on the block. We hope someone on the block will step up and help us.
